MZQH Mod – FAQ

What is the MZQH Mod?

MistZombie’sQuestHelpers is a mod for server admins to provide more liveliness to their servers via unique and enhanced scripted effects otherwise not possible in the base game.

They range from things such as Player/NPC Emotes, custom Buffs and general immersion features designed to be triggered via Pippi Mod tools such as Thespians and TZones.

e.g. If you wanted to walk up to an NPC and have either you or them play an emote during dialogue, this mod makes it possible.

How do I trigger the effects?

If you open your admin panel, you will see hundreds of items added by the mod (Tip: Search the panel for keywords Emote or Buff for the most common ones.) Each item represents a trigger for these events, and must be distributed to players via a Pippi kit.

See the page MZQH Mod – Quickstart Guide – Garden of Lust and Death for more details.

What exactly do the buffs do?

The ‘buffs’ added by this mod are cosmetic and only intended to enhance roleplaying and immersion.

E.g. If a player enters a bathhouse, have a TZone or Thespian trigger the Bathing buff on them. This will cause the player to see HUD elements that describe them taking a bath.

What is the relationship between MZQH and Pippi?

MZQH exists completely separate from Pippi and the Pippi team have no involvement in the creation of this mod. This mod simply expects an admin to leverage Pippi’s mechanics to trigger the effects, but otherwise there are no hard dependencies. Consider it a sort of ‘Unofficial Plugin’.

Can I use Tot/Thrall Wars instead of Pippi?

If those mods have mechanisms to distribute items to players then the effects probably will still work. What might not work is the ability to suppress the ‘loot log’ HUD element when the items are added, it took me a while to figure out how to do it with Pippi so that’s probably the caveat.

Unfortunately I do not use those frameworks and don’t have the capacity to look into them either; if you have tried them out with this mod, do let me know.

I noticed this mod is flagged as Contains Adult Content on Steam. Why?

Some of the buffs effects added by the mod describe highly sexually explicit language and scenarios, which is why it’s flagged this way. In effect however, everything in this mod is admin-distributed only; if you don’t care for such content in your own server, just ignore those few buffs.
